Philadelphia Masonry Built to Last

Horizon restored our 1890s Queen Village row house after winter freeze damage. They matched the original salmon-colored mortar perfectly and reinforced our party wall with hidden steel. Two Nor'easters later, not a single crack.

Our Chestnut Hill stone chimney was leaking smoke into the house. Horizon rebuilt the top 4 courses with historically accurate tooling and installed a stainless liner that passes inspection. The mason even found and repaired a hidden crack in the firebox.

Our South Philly row house foundation was sinking. Horizon excavated under the living room, poured new footings with rebar cages, and matched the original brick veneer. No more sticking doors and the basement stays dry even during heavy rains.

The Wissahickon schist wall along our Mt. Airy property collapsed in last winter's ice storm. Horizon sourced matching stone from a local quarry and rebuilt it with proper drainage behind. The new wall looks 100 years old but has hidden concrete reinforcement.

Our Society Hill courtyard had constant drainage issues. Horizon installed permeable brick pavers with a hidden French drain system. Now rainwater channels properly to the street instead of pooling against our foundation. The herringbone pattern matches 18th century examples nearby.

The basement in our Germantown stone house was always damp. Horizon applied breathable lime parging that lets moisture escape while keeping water out. No more musty smell and our historic stone looks like it did in 1790.
